Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are all taught in school. The challenge is how to make these subjects a lifelong passion instead of
just another class. The NEF provides funds for programs that make Science real, like Science camp, where students can see a banana slug
for the first time or dissect an owl pellet to learn about the food chain. Unforgettable memories that are the foundation of a career.

Imagine a student watch a rocket they built fly 1,000 feet high, or see a robot they built take its first steps, or have "Hello World"
appear on the screen from the first program they wrote. These are all real today in the NUSD. The NEF supports Technology programs like
these which allow students to channel their curiosity and brainpower into taking their first steps into careers like programming, robotics,
and beyond.

In music and drama programs students first practice and learn their craft. Then they are thrust on stage where they face the fear and
exhilaration of performing in front of a live audience. Whether they are playing the clarinet, singing a show tune, or reciting
Shakespeare, the shear joy each student feels as the audience breaks into applause is what dreams are made of.
